Zero to Three: Dr Pruett is President Emeritus, having been ZTT’s president and served on the board of the National Center for Infants, Toddlers and Families. Zero to Three is the nation’s leading resource on the first three years of life. A national non-profit charitable organization, its aim is to strengthen and support families, practitioners and communities to promote the healthy development of babies and toddlers. Worth magazine recently listed it as one of the top 100 charities in the nation. Dr. Pruett is a past president of the organization, having served as a board member since 1984.

Early Childhood Peace Building jointly founded by Yale University, Sesame Workshop and UNICEF, its mission is “To create a legacy of sustained peace by drawing on the transformative power of early childhood development by building a global movement that values the role of young children and families as agents of change in peace building.” Dr. Pruett is a cofounder.

Sesame Workshop is the non-profit educational organization behind Sesame Street that has been making a meaningful difference in the lives of children worldwide for over 50 years. Taking advantage of all forms of media and using those that are best suited to delivering a particular curriculum, the Workshop effectively and efficiently reaches millions of children, parents, caregivers and educators – locally, nationally and globally.

The Yale Child Study Center founded in 1909, The Yale Child Study Center is the nation’s leading research, education, and service center for child development and child psychiatry. The center has originated many national and international intervention and research efforts on behalf of seriously ill and at-risk children and serves as the Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the Yale University School of Medicine. Dr. Pruett has been a faculty member since 1974 where he served as the Director of Medical Education.

Supporting Father Involvement/Parents as Partners; Dr. Pruett’s original, award-winning evidence-based research with his colleagues, Phil and Carolyn Cowan, and his wife Marsha Kline Pruett has shown positive outcomes in reducing risk factors for child abuse and neglect within families, challenged and otherwise, across diverse populations across North America and the UK. China is under consideration as the next venue.

Goddard Schools: Dr. Pruett is a founding member of the Educational Advisory Board for The Goddard Schools, a chain of 500+ Birth to Six schools that emphasize the benefits of learning through play in the context of parental collaboration and community engagement by each school.
